The Management Console was created to help our customers
manage multiple accounts from a single spot. For example, if
you have a web site, you may sign up for statistics, monitoring, and a
banner exchange. Instead of having to log into each account
separately, you can consolidate all three accounts under the Management
Console.
Another example is: Imagine that if you're a web design consulting company with a dozen
clients. You want to track statistics for each client, but also want
to give each client access to their own data. You would create
12 statistics accounts, consolidate them into the Management Console, which
only you can see, then let each client have the account and password for
their account only. That way, you don't have to log in 12 times and
your clients can see only their own data.
Another benefit of the Management Console is the streamlined
signup process it provides. Once you have a Management Console account,
you can quickly and easily add new services from the console. For example,
from the console, you can select the 'HitsLink' menu item, which will
take you to the traffic statistics signup page. Several fields will
already be filled in with default data and the new service will automatically
be included in the console. From then on, you can manage the new account
from the console.
