iPod Touch Usage Growing Faster Than the iPhone
Net Market Share from Net Applications tracks data that provides valuable insight into significant trends for internet usage. The iPhone has been a huge success for both Apple and AT&T primarily by providing a platform and network to browse from a mobile device with the speed, ease and features of a desktop. But, the iPod Touch with Safari browsing over WiFi is gaining traction. The iPod Touch has a faster growing share of overall browsing than the iPhone. From November 2008 to April 2009, the iPod Touch share of overall usage has increased from .05% to .15% (300%), while iPhone share has increased from.37% to .55% (49%).
